Ford’s decision to close its plants in Brazil should not be a problem. But it is.

Countries should not strive to have cars factories anymore. In the past, automobile assembly lines were the state of the art innovation and an icon of high technology, but not anymore. Nowadays, they don’t really add that much value.

Cars can be assembled pretty much anywhere. Because of that, brands look for the most suitable places where scale, logistics and production costs are more beneficial.
